**MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE**
 
 
The candidate will be responsible for certifying Cisco equipment to meet US Government requirements.  They will be required to oversee certification efforts from the requirement phase through certification.  This includes translating Government technical requirements into product requirements, internally testing products against Interoperability and Cybersecurity requirements, identifying product gaps, reporting defects to engineering, and supporting the test team through certification at Government facilities.  After testing, follow through on issues found is required.  The position requires understanding of Cisco products functionality and how multiple technologies interact with one another.  The ideal candidate will have a general working knowledge of computer, network and system fundamentals, and have an solid understanding of routing, switching, and data center concepts.  Additionally, they will have prior experience with evaluating, securing, and managing IP network-based elements and systems.
 
Beyond technical acumen, the candidate must demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills as direct communication with other team members, business units, program managers, sales teams, Government representatives, and other vendors is required.  Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team (including remote members).  The candidate will be responsible for their own projects as well as providing test support for projects of other team members.  This requires managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
 
Ideal candidate will have CCNP-level knowledge or higher along with several years of industry experience.  Certification is not specifically required.
 
 
Requirements:
 
1) Core network concepts
            - Experience working with Cisco routing and switching products (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR, etc.)
            - Capable of building and documenting test networks, including the configuration of routers and switches
            - Solid background with demonstrable experience in IP-based solutions at system and solution level
            - Solid understanding of Ethernet, STP, OSPF, VRRP, IPv4, SSHv2, PKI, IPSec
            - Working knowledge of IPv6
            - Working knowledge of fiber optics
            - Working knowledge of QoS design and implementation
 
 
2) Additional concepts and skills
            - Working knowledge of RADIUS, TACACS, SNMP, SYSLOG
            - Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows and Linux
            - Familiar with security hardening of routing and switching products in accordance with guidance and best practices
 
 
3) Soft skills
            - Excellent troubleshooting skills
            - Ability to teach complex topics to junior engineers
            - Excellent verbal and written communications skills

            - Wireless LAN technologies (802.11n and newer)
            - Data center networking such as leaf/spine, UCS, Hyperflex, VMware
            - Industry experience configuring and managing production networks
            - Experience with security tools such as nmap, Nessus or Retina
            - SDN (WAN, data center, and campus)
            - Working knowledge of IXIA or Spirent
            - DoDIN APL certification knowledge
            - CCIE
 
 
5) Miscellaneous
            - Travel is required up to 15% of the time
            - Typically requires 7 ­to 10 years of related experience
            - Must be US Citizen
            - Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Security clearance
