Who You'll Work With 

As Director of Engineering in Cloud and Compute organization, you will work with the technical & management leadership team to set and drive the roadmap for the Cisco Intersight Core Framework Team. As a team, we challenge the status quo and are passionate about creating a high performing organization. Every day and every interaction will be unique. You will likely engage with a diverse representation of roles, including agile coaches, scrum masters, technical program managers, developers, designers, product owners, product management and other engineering leaders. 

 

What You’ll Do 

The Director of Engineering for Cisco Intersight’s Core Framework team is a key leadership role with significant visibility and influence over the engineering organization. Our core framework used by multiple services in the Cisco Intersight ecosystem is expected to scale to manage millions of endpoints. You will lead & develop the team responsible for all aspects of the framework and partner across the business and Cloud and Compute leadership team. You will:

  • Lead a highly technical team with expertise in modern cloud-native infrastructures and operations
  • Design and implement a modern, scalable, cloud-based infrastructure for the growing company ecosystem
  • Improve overall system scale and resiliency by establishing standard operating procedures working with stakeholders and implementing pertinent tools & technologies
  • Partner with the SRE team to implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems, with tools to isolate system impacting issues
  • Hire, mentor and cultivate a high performing team

Qualifications 

  • 15+ years of experience in software development roles in an enterprise SaaS product organization with 7+ of those years in engineering management experience in building and scaling an infrastructure team operating high scale cloud infrastructure 
  • Proven record of scaling, mentoring & leading engineering teams (40+ members) 
  • Deep understanding of cloud native systems and processes, with experience working with systems at scale (i.e. billions of transactions per day)
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and operate web scale, high growth system with high reliability and availability targets
  • Experience operating complex multi-datacenter, multi-cluster environments and a strong understanding of multi-tenancy and security
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development and continuous integration
  • The ability to influence, facilitate discussion, and work in partnership with other teams
  • Product/project management skills with an understanding of how to balance product requests against internal priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Expertise with certifications (SOC2, FedRAMP) preferred
