The Mass Scale Infrastructure Group (MIG) develops software across the routing, switch and wireless platform portfolio at Cisco and is investing heavily to transform networking through groundbreaking solutions that will impact the way IT is consumed. This means your work will transform our customers' consumption of our systems from every angle.


What You'll Do:


Are you pushing the envelope? Here you will be crafting, implementing, and empowering the next generation software stack for Cisco route, switch and mass scale infrastructure portfolio. You will work in a dynamic agile development team working with state-of-the-art software and tools to develop disruptive solutions with a focus on simplicity.


You will be leading innovative teams at MIG in software and test areas. You will work on leading products with various MIG teams and be focused on customer success.


The role is based in San Jose, California. 


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive development and deployment of solutions in our product portfolio.
  • Define and qualify End to End / Solution Architectures, engage in solving complex network problems and define solutions to raise the bar.
  • Work on automation, algorithmic thinking and analytics derived from customer use cases. 

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a strong and inspiring senior engineering team leader.
  • Proven engineering delivery and execution track record, with experience in all stages of the software lifecycle.
  • Strong track record of leadership in networking technology and managing large organizations (100+ engineers) delivering widely deployed products at telcos and web scale customers.
  • Experience in leading and collaborating with teams across time zones.
  • Background in driving to automation, agile and lean practices, DevOps culture and iterative customer feedback-based development.
  • Strong technical expertise in networking technologies. Key technology areas include L2/L3 data and control plane, software and hardware-based packet forwarding, x86 and Linux servers, various physical layer technologies, optics and embedded system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with customers and in supporting deployment of new products.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract diverse talent, and to grow and mentor people. Track record of developing the next generation of successful leaders.
  • Leadership skills to build trusting, substantial relationships with peers, collaborators, and partners both internal and external to Cisco. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with routing, switching, infrastructure technologies like Cable access, 4G/5G etc, and other connectivity technology.
  • Deep experience with software development with automated unit and integration testing. 
  • MSEE/CS combined with at least 12 years of progressive, industry experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 15+ years related experience.
