As Director, Engineering Program Management, you will partner with the Hypershield Engineering team on a variety of product delivery tracks. What You Will Do
- Support, track and manage complex program execution, multi-functional coordination, and inter/intra team communications to deliver outstanding, high quality program outcomes for Cisco’s Hypershield program.
- Work closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and timelines into an actionable backlog.
- Lead the product’s release plans and set expectations on delivery of new features.
- Bring the right people together to identify risks and dependencies, define and adjust plans to mitigate and manage accordingly.
- Monitor program progress and effectively communicate status, updates to both internal and external teams.
- Lead program gates to ensure compliance, alignment, and executive transparency
- Drive day-to day program activities to meet overall program objectives
- Resolve conflicts by focusing on shared purpose and mutual understanding
- Drive retrospectives and measurable process improvement efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of related experience or Master’s degree with 8+ years of related experience or PhD with 5+ years of related experience leading large scale enterprise engineering projects or programs
- 5+ years of experience using Agile methodologies and SCRUM frameworks for program management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fine-tuned understanding of and expertise in Lean Enterprise / Agile / Kanban practices and supporting tools
- Ability to understand, discuss / communicate technical concepts, with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Able to communicate well with cross-functional team members, be able to efficiently collaborate with and influence team members to achieve project goals, and contribute positively to the engineering community environment
- Must have strong co-ordination and facilitation skills and be willing to work with geo-distributed teams
- Comfortable interpreting data to translate and present as business insights
- Experience with collaboration tools, defect tracking tools, data visualization applications, and business applications
- Consistent track record of successful sophisticated program management
- Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
