Your Impact 

Cisco Security is looking for a Technical Lead to help Cisco to unleash the power of Common Services Platform.  

 

We have a huge responsibility to cater to huge traffic of millions of requests per second, and you will help setting up systems which can cater to this load in a secure, reliable and auto-scaling way.

  • Take on a Lead role of a DevOps/SRE team in maintaining, managing and operating diverse Cloud Offerings/Services running in Public Clouds in multiple regions at scale
  • Manage and Maintain Services in AWS GovCloud/FedRAMP environments
  • Work and collaborate closely with other technical and non-technical leaders across multiple diverse teams across multiple technologies to manage full lifecycle of the product, including architecture, design, implementation, test, deployment and DevOps in a cloud-based environment.
  • Provide technical guidance, expertise and support to other DevOps and software engineers.
  • Assist is managing and enhancing fully automated and continuously deployed systems in the Cloud with high level of confidence.
  • Work with corporate security and oversee cybersecurity compliance efforts for SOC2 and ISO 27001, vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, compliance management.
  • Support CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines with GIT, Docker, Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Utilize various technologies, tools and methodologies including cloud service platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Python, Shell, Computer Source Code (Git, Github, Bitbucket), cloud infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.
  • Apply advanced theoretical knowledge to perform job duties.
  • Take on Agile Scrum master role in developing and grooming operational and security epics and user stories and work with agile team to deliver high quality product on time.

 

You’ll work with:

  • Product and Engineering Management, to identify short term milestones and long-term goals. 
  • Engineers, in your group to achieve near and long-term goals. 
  • DevOps group, to jointly govern infrastructure. 
  • Architect’s group, for alignment on architecture of related products and influence shared technology decisions.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Operations, Software Development and/or Automation role.
  • Experience working with public cloud such as AWS, GCP, Azure and/or IaaS/SaaS
  • Understanding of AWS services like EKS, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, ECS, RDS, SQL
  • Experience in a Linux (or Unix) based environment.
  • Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack, Pagerduty


Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related STEM field.
  • Strong software development experience with Go, Java, NodeJS, React and Python
  • In depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, Linux / docker / container performance measurement, Linux kernel
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools, like Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git, argoCD
  • Knowledgeable about SOC2, ISO27k, FedRAMP and other compliance framework and security controls
  • Solid knowledge on Kubernetes, Docker, Packer or similar tools.
  • Good knowledge of microservice architecture, service mesh or similar concepts
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation using terraform, ansible or similar tools
  • High level of interest in network security and development of cloud security software
  • Ability to come up with detailed architecture / Design and implementation and Proof of Concept (PoC)
  • Ability to lead a small team of Operations engineer / SRE’s
  • Unit and system test automation skills a plus

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
