What You'll Do

We have an exciting position available for a creative, inspired data architect / engineer to work with our Supply Chain Transformation team to develop and lead Strategic Transformation Initiatives driving Supply Chain Data Architecture and Analytics. You possess a strong data architecture and engineering background. You are able to thrive and succeed in an ambitious environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or contending priorities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Data Architect/ Engineer responsible for developing blueprints for all data repositories pertaining to a function, domain.
  • Translate business needs into long-term data architecture solutions.
  • Defines, crafts dimensional database schemas.
  • Evaluate reusability of current data for separate analyses.
  • Conduct data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate data.
  • Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.
  • Make decisions on moderately complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Define the data Quality/health framework.

Who You'll Work With

The SCT team is chartered to architect and build the supply chain of the future. The team enables strategic transformation by applying strengths; setting strategy, designing the target business architecture, and delivering through multi-functional solution design and implementation through flawless program execution. SCT includes critical functions for SCO including Strategy, Acquisition Integration, Sustainability, Compliance, Business Architecture, Data Management & Analytics, and the Portfolio Management Office. SCT works closely with internal Supply Chain Functions along with IT, CPS, Finance, Services, and other Cisco partners to ensure Supply Chain is properly aligned with modern and future business and customer needs.

Data Management and Analytics team is one of the key functions within the SCT to implement data strategy, data governance and data analytics practices with multi-functional teams within SCO. The team delivers self-service analytics capability to meet our business needs and drive improvements in supply chain performance.

Who You Are

You are a strategic problem solver, able to connect dots, drive alignment, prioritize requirements and delivery timelines. You have experience with Snowflake, Oracle SQL/PL SQL, or SAP HANA is preferred. You possess sound knowledge of AWS and Snowflake Architecture, warehousing concepts, and developing data pipelines via SQL and Python-based ETL framework

You have a solid understanding of cloud technologies and solutions available on AWS, Elastic and GCP such as Cloud Data Lake, query engines, cloud storage, compute, networking setup for connecting across multiple cloud providers, user access management and security.

You have experience in data analytics & visualization products like Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Power BI. You possess knowledge of crafting, implementing, deploying, and maintaining the ETL/ELT process and data flow, including data quality using various data integration tools.

You can support sophisticated data analysis, and work with multiple multi-functional teams for ingestion and modeling of data from various sources. You have experience with infrastructure and systems engineering, and scaling services on one of the public cloud is a plus

Proficient in data integration tools like Informatica, Del Bhoomi, source control, configuration, database tuning and reporting functions; Ability to write simple to sophisticated queries to support audit requests or business reporting requests and resolve technical production issues

You have exposure to noSQL and big-data technologies; Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies; Experience with infrastructure tools including Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, and Git. You have good communication and interpersonal skills and can work optimally in a team environment; Energy and real passion for your work

Our Minimum Requirements For This Role

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Preferred - Master's Degree
  • Experience in architecting for SaaS platforms integrating with On-prem systems
  • Solid understanding in various data quality dimensions; Embodies strong leadership skills
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Experience in defining data interoperability architecture via real-time APIs; 3 or more years of technical experience
