Meet the Team
We are a small, global team who is breaking new ground by bringing communications and enablement together to help Security Sellers be even more successful. We are looking for an organized, proactive, and self-driven strategic individual who understands the needs and dynamics of a global sales organization.
You will be working in a fast paced environment, as part of the Seller Success team, partnering with stakeholders in Security Sales and Strategy & Planning, Product Development, Marketing, and Communications. You have experience in employee and executive communications and have worked successfully with sales teams before. You understand how Security fuels the One Cisco story and enjoy making messages relevant to different audiences. You are ready to think and act outside of the box to support enablement activities in region.
The Seller Success team helps employees, customers and partners understand our Cisco Secure strategy and portfolio and enables sellers to sell more and better. They are informed and inspired, understand our GTM motions and the innovative technology that’s protecting our customers. We use a variety of communications and enablement channels and programs as a tool to influence and drive change in support of our business priorities and to build a culture where the best talent wants to work.
Through our daily work, we reach 36,000+ sales employees who want to understand and articulate our Security strategy, technology and key differentiators. Through events, speaking engagements and media opportunities, we also reach customers, partners, and analysts. And most importantly, we are responsible for inspiring, informing, and educating our 1,600+ Security Specialists, so they can be one team that is respected and valued as the best Security sellers in the industry.
Our team geeks out on technology and is passionate about culture. We use data and storytelling to communicate with clear, distinct, and actionable language. We connect the dots between Cisco’s corporate strategy and the Security business.
Our team culture
We value getting stuff done and making sure it add business value. We trust and respect each other. We can count on each other. We help each other connect the dots. We have fun. We share information openly. We collaborate frequently. We provide input into each other’s plans and content. We believe that diverse perspectives deliver better outcomes. We know that individual success and team success are equally important.
Your Impact
In your role as Communications and Enablement Manager, you are responsible for a variety of deliverables and projects that help leaders and sellers excel at their job.
You will partner with your team, leaders and business stakeholders, to drive one aligned story both internally and externally. You will need to extract information from subject matter experts and bring it all into one compelling message that aligns to our overall Cisco Security messaging. And you’ll need to do this at pace in a technology area that is constantly evolving. When business critical issues arise, you’ll work with your teammates to craft a plan around whether to communicate, who to communicate to, using what channels and at what time. You are able to think global, but act local, and make narratives relevant to the respective audience and geography. You’ll help us build and manage a content repository so that the organization can use our material rather than having to start from scratch. You support local enablement activities by hosting, preparing, and organising speakers and teams, and you understand the content well enough to join the conversation. You are trustworthy, can handle confidential information, and are a proud ambassador of Cisco, its culture and values, and the Seller Success team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and execute seller readiness channels and programs, and a strategic communications plan for APJC / EMEA Security Sales aligned to business priorities (craft messages, create messaging documents and presentations, prepare speakers)
- Communications channel activation
- Connect the dots: Think global, act local
- Align key messaging for leaders across events, create presentations for external events
- Maintain our Security Sales content repository
- Virtually organise, host, and prepare enablement events in the APJC region
- Build and nurture a network with Security SMEs, Enablement, Marketing, and Communications in APJC and EMEA
Who You Are
You are a hands-on storyteller and executer who understands the power communications and enablement can have to influence and inspire. You are building and nurturing strong business relationships, have developed skills in understanding business strategy and being able to step back to look at the bigger picture. You know where your business partners are trying to take the organization but you’re also very in tune with the audience and can advocate for them to ensure they are engaged at every step of our journey. You value getting to the essence of what the audience needs to know, in writing and verbally. You love learning and you've developed skills in extracting information from the experts. You’re also able to combine content from multiple sources into one story. You are able to work in a fast-paced environment and you thrive in team environments where collaboration is key to success. You don’t seek the spotlight; you prefer being the wizard in the background.
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
- Are a connector and relationship builder
- Are reliable, flexible, and adaptable
- Have a global mindset
- Can distil complex information to the essence
- Understand how to use communications to influence and inspire change
- Like your job to be a little different every single say
- Enjoy being at the front line in a customer facing organization
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 7+ years of proved experience in Communications, Marketing, or Enablement or related experience
- Experience working in fast-paced, ever changing environment
- Industry/tech knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to influence and prioritize
- Experienced in culture and change management communications
- Must be a self-starter, strong collaborator who is flexible working across the team, functions, and timezones
- Experience working with international team
- Understanding of cybersecurity concepts is a plus (zero trust etc)
