What You'll Do

As a Business Development Manager, you will lead the creation and presentation of customer facing proposals involving Cisco Business Critical Services (BCS). Your time will primarily be spent engaging with our Global Enterprise East customers to understand their business challenges, translating those challenges into defined Cisco capabilities, and presenting how the resulting services will drive their technology and business outcomes, moving the metrics our customers care most about.

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy for BCS growth across the Global Enterprise customer segment with your peers
  • Scan our segment and market to identify challenges and use analytics to advance and refine strategies to increase penetration of existing BCS Services
  • Lead BCS Services plays to drive incremental bookings and technology adoption
  • Increase value by optimizing the level of effort required to accomplish the customer outcomes and lifecycle sales process
  • Build, edit and review proposals and statements of work where BCS services are included as part of larger multi-architecture groundbreaking deal structures
  • Drive Business Critical Services pipeline within the GES East Area


The Cisco Business Critical Services portfolio consists of pro-active services which predict technology opportunities, preempt risks, and navigate technology transitions with a customer’s IT environment.

Success in this role with our customers is what sets the stage for an outstanding customer experience and our ability to grow, expand and renew our customer’s business driving incremental recurring revenue for Cisco.

Who You'll Work With

The Global Enterprise Segment East (GES East) is made up of our largest and most sophisticated customers across multiple verticals: banking, finance, healthcare, retail, energy, transportation, and others. These customers are shifting from IT as a cost center to IT as a business driver, and Cisco Customer Experience (CX) is a centerpiece to that transformation.

In addition to the high touch customer engagements, the Business Development manager will be an integral part of the Customer Experience team which includes Customer Success, Customer Delivery and Renewals. A strong engagement with Sales and Partners is essential to success.

The individual will have the opportunity for transparency and interaction with senior leadership, cross-team collaboration, engagement and driving matrix-managed projects which have direct impact to the services business within the large enterprise accounts in the Americas and globally.

Who You Are

You are an independent self-starter with excellent verbal and written skills in communicating and positioning services value and capabilities to enterprise customers. You are thinking about the future of pro-active services and how they will affect our customers business objectives. You have a proven track record of developing and winning multi-architecture solutions contracts and a desire to grow your knowledge of Cisco’s BCS portfolio. You are able to handle complex, global initiatives and drive growth across teams. You provide constructive coaching and feedback to all levels within a team.

Minimum Qualifications Are:

  • Proven experience in multi architecture design and prioritization
  • BA/BS required
  • Consistent track record of pursuing and leading services engagements > $1M
  • Ability to travel (target of 25%)
