What You Will Do

We are looking for a test automation QA engineer who can help build and run test automation enabling quality releases. This role involves testing data pipelines, validating data integrity, and ensuring that data processing and storage solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. Work with team members to build and complete test plans/automation. Working with development leads and product owners on preparing a test plan, helping implement the plan through scripts/automation. Additionally, helps in identifying the accurate toolsets to automate and optimize the solutions to gain efficiency over manual processes.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for data validation.
  • Automate the current backlog of manual test cases and automate the new features.
  • Configure new CI/CD pipelines and manage the existing ones.

  • Enable product release quality process with automation.

Who You'll Work With

You will be joining a team of energetic QA engineers to design and build a quality product. Collaborate with data engineers and architects to understand data workflows and requirement. Your responsibilities include crafting and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions, and writing reusable automated tests to expand test coverage quickly and efficiently. You will review system/feature/test requirements and track quality assurance metrics. You will use opportunities to participate in or lead project discussions about the testing process during both the scoping and the delivery phase. You will work closely with cross-functional teams (User Experience, Development, QA, Operations, Product Management, and Support) to define acceptance criteria

Who You Are

You are independent and self-motivated with creative analytical skills. A QA Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of data solutions and services built on the AWS platform. You have an excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills with ability to learn quickly. You love to learn more and are not afraid to learn a new Cisco product or technology to make sure that both you and the project are successful.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in test automation and creating automation frameworks. Preferably with python scripting
  • Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
  • Experience with AWS data services such as Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3 and AWS Data Pipeline.
  • Hands on with CI/CD Automation process and implementation
  • Experience in tools like Jenkins, GitHub, OpenSearch
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Proficiency in working with Linux environments
  • Worked on non-functional tests like Performance, Scalability , Load

Preferred Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge about Email protocols , security concepts like encryption, Phishing , malware and spam protection.
  • Experience working in Agile projects and a good understanding of scrum ceremonies.
  • Automation experience with Python or any programming language automation experience. Robot framework is preferred
  • Good knowledge on AWS or any equivalent cloud infrastructure deployments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, create and manage the overall Quality strategy. Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for data processing solutions

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
