We are looking for a passionate Software Support Engineer professional to join our Support Engineering and Customer Experience (CX) team. In this position, you will be providing outstanding support through many different channels of communication – including email, phone, screenshare and forums.

What You'll Do

At AppDynamics, our Application Intelligence Platform empowers today’s software-defined businesses with the function of proactively monitor, lead, and optimize the most complex software environments.

Software Engineers in Java Software Engineering Team are taking care of debugging complex multi-tiered applications in various Java / J2EE frameworks that can be used to test the product. They are also responsible for working with our customers to provide advanced technical assistance and seek complex problems in customer environments. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Help customers instrument, monitor, and debug their large multi-tiered complex applications. 
  • Replicate customer environments and work to identify & fix the root cause or provide interim workaround as needed. 
  • Debug applications using various Java / J2EE ecosystem technologies, learn new stacks, technologies added in J2EE and implement applications using them. 
  • Provide technical support and work with customers to tackle complex issues with the product in their environment. 
  • Build Customer focused functionalities to complement the product coverage. 
  • Developing tools to help with troubleshooting and addressing product defects, fixing bugs and following up on fixes.

Who You are

What is required for this position:

  • Software development experience in Core Java and J2ee Framework i.n. spring, servlet, web service, etc. with debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting and in Windows & Linux environments including collecting data, analyzing logs and dumps, SSL communications in a client/server environment
  • Experience with relational DBs and SQL scripting
  • Experience in Linux and shell scripting, bash or PowerShell
  • Excellent customer-facing skills 
  • Solid command of written and verbal English. Any other foreign language such as German, French, Spanish, Polish, Arabic, etc. is a benefit 

What are „nice to have” skills:

  • Commercial development experience, specialist in System Design, Scalable Architecture, and Complex Open Systems. Fully understand the interaction and performance ramifications of choices of implementation patterns
  • Experience in configuring Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure and understanding of networking concepts (for both Windows and Linux)
  • Knowledge about NoSQL DBs
  • Experience/knowledge in any other programming languages is a benefit
  • Basing knowledge in security aspects
  • Experience in providing System, OS, JVM, and application-level performance tuning guidelines
  • Experience with SAML, SSO, and LDAP environments
  • Experience working with APM tools and tuning of application performance
