It’s a player / coach role where the individual is expected to be an expert in AppDynamics’ cutting edge technology and in the selling of that technology. The individual will contribute to territory and account strategy as well as driving the execution directly and indirectly. Success will rely upon the individual’s ability to build strong relationships with our Sales Leadership, Account Executives, Sales Engineers and customer stakeholders. The individual will need to be very comfortable giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback and adapting.
About the Role
The Channel Sales Engineering Manager role is a leadership position on the front lines. It’s a player / coach role where the individual is expected to be an expert in AppDynamics’ cutting edge technology and in the selling of that technology. This role is required to govern and manage a team of SE’s supporting the partner ecosystem. Responsible for individual career planning and development, team development and hiring according to the dynamic needs of the sales organisation, and other administrative duties relative to team management. This role maintains strong relationships with counterparts in the Channel Sales, Services, Support, Marketing and other organisations to ensure alignment of organisational activities and directions. The individual will contribute to regional partner strategy as well as driving the execution directly and indirectly. Success will rely upon the individual’s ability to build strong relationships with our Channel and Field Sales Reps, Account Executives, Sales Engineers and customer stakeholders. The individual will need to be very comfortable giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback and adapting.
Act as a leader within the Sales Engineering team and across the larger AppDynamics organization, constantly looking for ways to expand on our success. Own the SE responsibilities, including presentations and hands-on technical work, for key accounts. Build teams that can execute today and grow to meet our future needs. Define and maintain a high bar for expectations and support the team in achieving it. Challenge the team and yourself to continually grow. Travel up to 50%
3-5 years experience leading a technical team either in pre-sales or professional services
Experience and competence working at OS command lines including Unix, Linux and Window command prompts.
Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows shell scripting
Knowledge of basic networking components and concepts. Ability to troubleshoot basic networking issues that may prevent communication between hosts
Experience with web servers and common relational databases used in today’s application architectures. Ability to understand SQL.
Experience with application performance management technologies and techniques
Experience with Cloud and Big Data technologies
Experience with common .NET web application architecture frameworks, distribution mechanisms and messaging components such as ASP.NET, ASMX, WCF, MSMQ, etc.
Experience with common Java web application architecture frameworks, distribution mechanisms and messaging components such as servlets, struts, Spring, EJB, web services, RMI, JMS, MQ-Series, etc.
