About the Role

Compiles customer business and technical requirements into a solution architecture and project/program definition. Accelerates delivery by providing technical leadership during all stages of the project/program delivery. Advises project team and customer on implementation approach, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of best practices to ensure customer recognizes value from the deployed software after deployment.

Key responsibilities (What Do You Do?

  • Works interactively with all project staff, both internal and customer;

  • Leads project technical teams to success while delivering customer satisfaction;

  • Actively participates in the project steering committee as AD Technical Design Authority (TDA);

  • Engages with executive stakeholders to drive successful outcomes;

  • Delivers solution planning workshops to deliver high-level design and implementation roadmaps;

  • Writes adoption plan to ensure customer can move into operational success immediately following project closure;

  • Contributes to scoping activities by working with AD teams to define Statements of Work (SoW) or Customer Change Orders (CCO);

  • Meets with project team to review project governance, roles and responsibilities and progress of each engagement:-

Plan: Owns all aspects of project technical planning relative to assigned tasks, leveraging project team as needed to complete customer kick-off, project planning, deliverables review and sets clear customer expectations, including: Governance Plan,

  • Customer Training Plan, Change Management Plan,

  • Testing Strategy, Deployment Strategy.

Analyze: Contributes to and owns as appropriate, the analysis process and documentation deliverables including workshop facilitation and leadership, technical requirements and environment analysis, and documentation of ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ states, including: -Solution Analysis Planning. Solution Architecture and Process Workshops.

  • Technical Workshops. Solution Analysis Documentation. 

Design: Defines unit or full solution design as assigned. Delivers sufficient detail and manages design within the scope of the SOW and project goals. Delivers customer ready design documentation to support design phase signoff including: Test Plans, Training Plan, Deployment Plan, Solution Design Document

Architecture Design: Uses AD and industry (TOGAF) based best practices to define all domains of the solution architecture aligning to project goals, governance, and customer adoption activities, for:

  • Business, Application, Data Modeling, Technology.

Process Design: Provides thought leadership and actionable guidance to drive customer adoption and value realization of their business goals, including:

  • Configuration and Process Data Design

Validate: Provides leadership, education, and mentoring throughout the validation phase to ensure the customer fully vets the solution capabilities within the defined project scope. Manages issue resolution through hands-on correction, re-design/re-build, project change order, or bug reporting, including: Validation Planning, Validate Operational Readiness.

Deploy: Successfully moves the customer into production on the target AD solution. Production rollout success includes technical migration into the production environment, production testing, transition to support including any open defects or RFEs, and project closeout activities, including:

  • Deployment Planning, Production Testing,Transition to Customer Support.

  • Constantly drives toward solution adoption of the production system. Adoption includes awareness and communication planning and execution, education, measurement of rollout adoption, and use of the benefits register and value realization model;

  • Regularly manages checkpoints with PM, project team, and customer to ensure defined architecture is being followed and any changes are evaluated and adjusted for risk to desired business goals;

  • Regularly manages checkpoints with the build team to ensure solution design is followed throughout Dev’, Test, and Production build activities;

  • Identifies and develops coaches and/or champions within the customer project team, extended team, and executive leadership. Shares coach and champion building activities with PM and others to assist in new services sales and stronger project sponsorship from customer stakeholders.

Critical Competencies (What Skills/Certifications do you need?)


Functional:

  • Demonstrates advanced communication and influencing skills at all levels in customer organization and AD. Able to influence at senior level and act as ‘Trusted Advisor’ internally and with customers at Program Steering Group level.

  • Effectively facilitates advanced workshops and meetings to ensure all attendees are engaged and stated objectives are met;

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and awareness of the AD technology and delivery methodology;

Technical Skills:
  • Expert level understanding of AD software;

  • Builds skills in technical areas which support the deployment and integration of AD based solutions, including Advanced OS, DB, Storage; Virtual etc.

  • Holds unexpired AEEP certification at all times;

  • Actively building knowledge to become an expert in latest AD technologies;

  • Actively keeps abreast of latest trends and best practice in enterprise software sector able to talk authoritatively with customers.

Soft Skills:

  • Has advanced written and verbal communication skills at all levels of project team engagement;

  • Engages in strategic thinking and planning for solution design and problem resolution,

  • Prioritizes and manages time to deliver on commitments;   

  • Builds champions among the project team and coaches them for success;

  • Effectively communicates with the customer C-level executives;

  • Continually strives to build advanced skills in becoming a trusted advisor;

  • Maintains advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Maintains competent Microsoft Visio skills.

  • Maintains competent Microsoft Project skills.

  • Maintains good knowledge of PSA System Timesheets and Expenses modules.

Qualifications/Certifications:
  • Requires higher technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Ideally to Masters level.

  • Requires ITIL foundation certification

  • Ideally ITIL Expert level

  • Requires TOGAF level 1 foundation.

  • Effectively facilitates advanced workshops and meetings to ensure all attendees are engaged and stated objectives are met;

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and awareness of the AD technology and delivery methodology;

  • Requires AppDynamics current AEEP certification.
