The Silicon One Productization team takes enables technology, supplier readiness and takes these cutting-edge ASICs to production and we are looking for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join Quality and Reliability organization. Join an exciting team that works in a fast-paced, start-up type environment to establish robust processes to scale Cisco's Silicon Components business. 


What You'll Do

You will join the Product Development Team as a Product Reliability/Failure Analysis Engineer – Quality and lead all aspects of product qualification including Failure analysis.

 As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be part of the quality and reliability group, performing failure analysis of ASIC products. Should have a passion for problem solving and a strong technical background in semiconductor failure analysis techniques and root cause analysis. This role will require high level of collaboration and interaction with Product Test Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Assembly Engineering and Foundry Engineering teams as necessary. Must be able to work well within a team and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Should have experience with a variety of semiconductor failure analysis test equipment and be able to interpret results and provide clear recommendations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Root cause analysis of reliability tests or field failures and propose corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement standard processes for failure analysis.
  • Coordinate all the logistics and instructions to direct the failure analysis process and carry out FA function in a systematic way.
  • Document and report failure analysis results to management.
  • Function as a technical resource for failure analysis questions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead failure analysis investigations using structured problem-solving methods to engage a cross-functional team to diagnose, resolve, and prevent future problems.

We collaborate with ASIC design teams as well as several peer groups in Supply Chain Operations to influence Cisco Silicon One Productization Strategy.

You are a highly organized, quality professional with technical background in Semiconductor IC Engineering and relevant skills. You possess strong written and oral communication skills - ability to handle sensitive situations in an effective and calm manner. You are comfortable engaging at all levels of the organization and with multi-functional stakeholders - quickly developing trust, presenting and driving active discussions.


 Requirements

  • Bachelor in electrical/electronic Engineering or related required. Master's Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in failure analysis field with experience in 1 or more related areas such as Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Process/Assembly Engineering.
  • Good understanding of Semiconductor technology, manufacturing process, Advanced packaging, IC test methodologies, device reliability, silicon/package fail mechanisms and symptoms.
  • Hands on skills in FA process and techniques, methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience of FA techniques like Cross sectioning, X-ray, CSAM, TDR, FIB, SEM, and TEM is required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of fault isolation technique, ATE, Scan/ATPG debug preferred.
  • Good understanding of transistor functions and basic electronics.
  • Knowledge of JEDEC IC Qualification tests and requirements is beneficial.
  • Innovative and Creative with troubleshooting techniques.
  • Enjoy hands-on work and working in a lab environment.
  • Good customer and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and pay good attention to details.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
