We are seeking a dynamic Account Executive - Artificial Intelligence (AI) to join our strong and strategic sales team. As an AE (AI), you will drive the adoption of our AI solutions across various industries. You will identify potential clients, understand their specific needs, and provide tailored AI solutions that align to their business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies and a strong ability to translate technical concepts to a diverse audience.

The Cloud + AI Infrastructure team delivers one scalable strategy with local execution for data center customer transformation and growth. We are the worldwide go-to-market compute and data center networking engine assembling market transitions and engaging with sellers to fuel growth for customers and Cisco. Alongside our colleagues, Cloud & AI Infrastructure builds the sales strategy, activates sellers and technical communities, and accelerates selling every single day. 

 

Who You Are 

 

You understand AI technical concepts and translate them into business value for clients.  You are able to develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve sales targets for AI products and services by identifying target accounts and developing relationships with key decision-makers and partners. You can engage with clients and lead ideation and requirements gathering exercises to understand their business challenges and help customers understand the value of AI/ML solutions to their business and then conduct detailed analysis to qualify opportunities for AI solutions.   

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience 
  • Experience selling AI or machine learning solutions to large customers in two or more of the following industry verticals: Manufacturing, Government, Education, Financial Services, Retail or Healthcare. 
  • Experience working with large, complex sales teams and leading multiple stakeholders to assemble AI/ML solutions that interact with and enable our customers internal workforce or their end customers 
  • A validated understanding of the business issues of large CSP, accelerated Computing/ Data Center technology/ Deep learning & machine learning. 
  • Experience using CRM software to run sales pipelines and customer relationships. 
  • Track record of growing revenue for new innovative technology-based solutions. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Certification in a related field, such as AI, machine learning, or data science. 
  • Experience with Generative Artificial Intelligence, deep learning, data science, and the software ecosystem to support those applications 
  • Technical Familiarity: 
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, natural language processing and computer vision 
  • Understanding of data management concepts, including data warehousing, data lakes and data governance 
  • Familiarity with data science tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn or Keras 
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark or NoSQL 
  • Understanding of APIs and integration concepts including RESTful APIs, GraphQL and microservices architecture 
  • Familiarity with security and compliance requirements for AI/ML solutions including GDPR, HIPAA and PCI-DSS

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
