Meet the Team 

The Cisco Global Solution Engineering (demo team) provide Customers, Partners and Cisco Employees with a way to Experience Cisco Solutions on the Cloud Platform, in Customer Proof of Concept (CPoC) labs, training events, or test drives. By demonstrating to customers how Cisco products can make them more productive, sales teams and partners can enlarge sales opportunities and shorten the sales cycle.

We provide a full-suite, integrated sales-enablement portfolio that provides:

  • Instant demos, guided demos and on-demand videos with trusted content for customers to learn about our technology.
  • Scheduled demos, labs, and workshops for customers to get a deep dive with our technology.
  • Expert-led engagements to validate solutions and offer proof-of-concepts in the customer environment.
  • Pre-sales services, customized templates and content for fast proposals and RFP responses to help customers decide to purchase.

Your Impact 

The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain demonstrations and lab content to showcase Cisco Security and/or Networking technologies to be accessed using dCloud. The candidate will plan, develop, and implement demonstrations with responsibilities including design, installation and automation, documentation, ordering, and project communication.

  • Project Management Collaboration - 10%
  • Identify and prioritize all project related tasks. Ability to organize, strategize and communicate project goals, objectives and tasks at all levels of the organization.

·      Demo Engineering - 60%

o   Work with various internal stakeholders to understand requirements, then design and develop demo topologies and use cases.

o   Create demo content using various proprietary tools, virtual machines, appliances, simulators, and hardware.

o   Verify demos are optimized by reviewing performance using VMware vCenter to ensure an optimal balance of content performance, efficiency, and stability before promoting/publishing production content.

o   Work with our Netops teams to install and maintain Cisco hardware.

o   General maintenance and administration of Cisco Security and Networking products.

o   Automation using Python, Powershell and REST API.

o   Work with engineering and business teams to draft, test and troubleshoot compelling demo / lab / story guides that contribute to the field sales teams and generate high interest and utilization.

  • Platform Design and Documentation - 15%
  • Must properly document and plan all projects prior to entering project build phase. Candidate must be well versed in the use of standard design templates and tools (Visio, ppt, Jira, etc). Must be able to produce clear documentation to guide users in the use of produced demo content.

  • Support – 10%
  • Provide technical support to level 1 & 2 support engineers, Program Managers and others ensuring that demonstrations are in working order. Test and replicate issues on the support row as required. Log into remote sites, test and apply fixes as required. Make recommendations to on-site support staff to negate future demonstration disruptions. Track and log escalations effectively.

  • Other – 5%
  • Lead training labs and presentations to internal and end customers showcasing the Security and/or Networking technologies. Provide the business advantages of said technology while educating the users towards the final sale. Continue the customer evolution from Learn, Experience, Validate, Decide.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 4 + years of experience in a technical support or systems engineering role, with strong knowledge in two of the following Cisco architectures - Security, Data Center & Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Collaboration technologies. (CCIE certification is an advantage but not required)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of key operating systems including Windows, Linux, VMware and Kubernetes, along with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to create, understand and troubleshoot automation program languages such as python, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience working with SaaS products and Cloud Service Providers.
  • Willing and excited to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNP/CCIE or equivalent
  • Independent Learner: Ability to build meaning, gain understanding, make judgments, make good decisions, analyze, and reflect with limited direction. Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Must have the drive to attempt to ‘figure it out’ rather than waiting for someone to handover information.
  • Ability to self-manage with excellent time management skills and the ability to organize competing priorities and tasks; as well as, supporting projects within various global time zones.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency, able to respond to the shifting demands of a team driven by critical time-to-market business demands, and able to drive the development of cross-functional projects to successful deployment.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve issues using source material, critically analyze data for actionable insights, and manage project risks, combined with exceptional communication abilities to listen effectively, convey information clearly, and build and sustain relationships focused on common goals and win-win results.

The ability to anticipate problems and identify alternative solutions. Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
