We are seeking a Security Consulting Engineer (SCE) experienced in supporting Cisco security implementations in the DOD, Federal Civilian, and SLED markets, and motivated to work with our most strategic and impactful customers in support of their aggressive transformation agendas. We are "Cisco's Face to the Customer," working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment as a visible contributor delivering on our commitments. A seasoned mix of broad security knowledge and specific area expertise, as well as excellent communication and consulting skills, has well-positioned this Cisco team making us trusted advisors capable of building solid, long-term relationships with our customers.

The SCE position is responsible for the support and delivery of CX Americas, US Public Sector services for Business Critical Services and Security services to Cisco's Tier 1 Customers in the CX Americas, US Public Sector market. Performs and drives architectural, design and integration engineering for complex security solutions. SCE's assist customers with tool selection and strategic direction security of tools and solution. SCE's identify and document security design and architecture best practices.

In addition to a SCE's day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other SCE's will be required. SCE's lead the responsibility for driving regional Customer Experience Services projects and customer-based project initiatives. CESs will actively lead complex security design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects. SCE's solve complex, multi-functional technical issues that cross boundaries over many disparate products technologies.

The CX Americas, US Public Sector services team involves helping to craft the customer's vision for their security of the network and maintain a secure, state of the art environment that is second to none in terms not be venerable of network up time and reliability. The qualified Consulting Engineer Services engineer will be able to have an impact to many Federal Government customers and help them transform to meet their mission.

Our members work cross-functionally and together to deliver business outcomes to our customers, along with the resources to insure personal and professional growth.

Who You Are

Must have Skills:

Be experienced delivering Cisco standard methodologies in the customer's security environment.

Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) ® or equivalent skills. Security preferred.

Typically requires BS, CS, University degree or equivalent plus 8+ years’ experience security engineering. Advanced degree strongly preferred.

ISE, FirePower, AMP, SourceFire, StealthWatch, ASAs, ESA, WSA, etc.

Ability to analyze security services requirements

In-depth knowledge of designing complex security solutions

Expertise with Cisco software features and functionality

Experienced with implementing security solutions

Ability to conduct training and one to one mentoring concerning security technology

Have the ability to simplify analysis and present results clearly at all levels of the business - including at senior management team level

Be able to demonstrate their ability to lead or guide teams made up of Cisco, customer and partner members in the analysis and troubleshooting of complex security problem

Have the ability to influence and lead system level consulting expertise to design consultants, sales and deployment teams for strategic / complex large customers

Be capable to provide high level crisis management through anticipation of issues, problems or events and actively resolving them with the customer and partners.

Have significant experience within a security architecture or design role having end to end responsibility

Have the capacity to see and articulate a vision that inspires change

Ability to multi-task, self-start, work in a fast-paced team environment and work independently

Exceptional professionalism, outstanding communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are critical traits

Must be able to travel 25%

Candidate can be located out of Washington DC, Northern Virginia or Maryland. Remote role with occasional on-site travel
