Data & Analytics (D&A) office is looking for multifaceted Senior Data Engineer/Technical Lead to help Cisco to unleash the power of data.
We have a huge amount of information from Cisco's Enterprise datasets, and you'll help provide data engineering and analytics solutions which will enable Cisco to be more data-driven to optimize its day to day operations and strategy.
You will help make the Data models, Data threading, Data Cleansing, and traditional & predictive analytics available and consumable in inventive new ways, and help build a community of "Data Engineering & Analytics advocates” across the company to ensure adoption.
What you will do
Work with multiple sophisticated data sets to accelerate operational and strategic data oriented decision-making. Understand the opportunities and business drivers building insight and solutions for those through data.
Build and Own Data Product(s)/Service(s), responsible for it's Data architecture, Lead a development team including hands on coding, and responsible for the quality of its overall data pipeline
Come up with different data threading/engineering methods to simplify and reduce the overall time to market in building the data products for D&A and it’s internal customers.
Identify and prioritize business and technical requirements using agile methodologies.
Come up new insights to drive data engineering projects to build various data sets for business analytical use cases.
Work with a variety of product owners, Engineering BUs, Scrum masters and development teams across different time zones.
Learn and apply data engineering tools and techniques including python, machine learning and data visualization.
Continuous personal development in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Who You’ll Work With
In this role you will be collaborating closely with Engineering, CX, Finance, Sales and IT groups.
Who You Are
You've got experience with identifying a business problem and solving it through data driven insights.
Experience in building requirements to improve data gathering for analytic purposes.
Got experience to Perform, Support and Lead all aspects of Data Engineering strategy, Data Warehousing, Data Integration and Report, ETL/ELT builds, and the Data Visualization.
Highly motivated, a self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
You are a creative problem solver and highly collaborative teammate who is comfortable working as a SME and key contributor on a matrixed team and able to navigate many cross-flow dependencies and diverse partner groups
BS/MS or equivalent (Sophisticated degree preferred)
16-18+ years of full-time Data Engineering/Data Analytics/Data Architecture experience.
Should have a very good hands on experience in working with ETL/ELT technologies, Cloud DB platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Google)/Teradata, AWS Technology Stacks, Informatica/DBT/Fivetran, SQL for Data Engineering and Data Science, and Python.
Proven experience in Enterprise Data engineering/data threading/Data Modeling and building Data Architecture
Able to take a concept or an idea and work through the different stages all the way to the execution and outcome.
Outstanding analytical thinking and aptitude.
Hands on experience in evaluating Data Engineering/Analytics products, proof of concepts.
Experience in leading Data Engineering/Data Migration projects.
Hands on experience in crafting and owning the Enterprise Data Architecture Products/services applications/platforms.
Customer Success, Customer Experience, Product Telemetry, Product Engineering, Finance, Install Base, Acquisition domain knowledge preferred.
Familiarity with advance analytics and machine learning topics.
Solid understanding in Tableau or similar data analytics and presentation tools.
Should have experience in storytelling with data in form of visuals.
Certification in Data Engineering/Cloud DB platforms/ASW Stack is a plus.
Good written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable presenting findings to executive level audience and translating data into understandable documents.
